Christine Buchholtz

Artist Bio

Christine Buchholtz is an artist based in Denmark, but with a strong connection to the KC area. She has been working with the Todd Weiner Art Gallery since 2016, where she stayed at Fort Leavenworth with her husband, an officer in the Danish Defence Forces.

She is self-taught and plays with incorporating key issues in colourful and playful images inspired by art deco and modernistic government propaganda posters from the 1920’s as well as street art. Drawing on the experiences she had while living in the States, she mixes both American and European references in to her paintings.

She finds references and symbols for her paintings through her work with defense and security policy in the Danish national administration as well as from her candidate degree in History and a great deal of research.
