Todd Weiner
Bio 2021
Todd Weiner is the proprietor of the Todd Weiner Gallery and has been involved in the Kansas City Art Scene for over 30 years. Never to leave his enthusiasm for the Arts behind, after college, Todd would join a 3rd generation family business as an importer and manufacturer’s representative of seasonal decorations, specifically Christmas trees and Christmas lights.
His experiences would include doing business with some of the top retailers in America including Target, Costco, Sears, and Hallmark Cards to name a few. Working directly with factories and large retailers gave Todd the inside track with many different manufacturers and many different types of end consumer. This experience would lead to designing artificial pre-lit Christmas trees and setting trends that competed globally in the marketplace. Todd then transitioned his energy, utilizing his vast commercial experience working with others to meld his natural enthusiasm for all that is creative.
He has spent the last decade working with and showing artworks in Kansas City by many regional, national, and international artists. As a contemporary art gallery from the Midwest, Todd Weiner Gallery is known for oil and acrylic paintings, ceramics, and sculpture, as well as photography, fiber art, and installations.
Todd has produced over 75 art exhibitions in Kansas City with support of critical review in newspapers, magazines, and online art and news publications. This history of activity shows strong roots firmly planted in the Crossroads Arts District. Todd’s stable of artists have attracted the collections of local museums, universities, and many corporate collections.
Todd believes the future of art depends on creatives to push the boundaries and test the limits of “what if.” Sometimes we have a very collective or traditional way of looking at things and if we give artists a chance and a voice to speak freely, then a special moment in time can be captured and celebrated. The commitment of being there for the journey of an artist gives Todd Weiner the insight to help patrons and collectors filter through what is truly considered to be great art.
